Pissed

I am so pissed off right now. I couldn’t even write last night I was so mad. Without going into a lot of detail, there was an incident we had to investigate at the store. During the course of the interviews one of my newer folks said he had never reported the problems before he said other associates (including hourly managers) had told him not to go to me, that I wouldn’t do anything anyway, and I have my favorites that I protect. What bothers me most is that there were other hourly managers included in the conversation that, while they didn’t say anything, they didn’t correct the statements about me or tell the others that this was an inappropriate conversation and if they had a problem with me they needed to talk to me.

So pretty much my entire hourly management corps, with the exception of one who just got promoted up out of that group, doesn’t think I’ll do my job if asked, and that I play favorites. What the hell? With only two exceptions I have either promoted these people to their current position or mentored them through the promotion process. I really hope I get one of those Senior Manager jobs I put in for, I’m seriously sick of my job.

My brother-in-law is doing an IronMan competition today up in Louisville, KY. So far he’s doing pretty well. This will be his last, however, since the training takes way too much time away from family. He might do local 10k runs and what not, but no more monsters for him.

It seems I’ve been driving around without an oil cap on my engine for about a week. Don’t I feel like an idiot. I took it off to add oil my first day back at work after the truck was fixed and I guess I didn’t put it back on. It was wedged between the battery and the frame so at least I don’t have to buy another one. While I was taking care of that I noticed an electrical connection at the front of the engine that had come apart, so I fixed that too, and while I was fixing *that* I noticed two open branches coming off a vacuum line. Not just the hoses had slipped off or cracked, but the hoses are gone. One of them leads to something on the intake manifold, leading me to believe this is all the result of sloppiness on the part of the Ford dealership. I’ll drive over and get them to look at it tomorrow. Dipwads.

Chatting with Critter a bit on Facebook right now. We both are having cravings for pizza, any pizza, any size, but we’re both broke until payday at the end of the week. Crapola.

Wow, this has certainly been an entertaining and uplifting entry hasn’t it? I’ll try to get another one in later today when I’m not as aggravated.

from their perspective, would they have any cause at all to believe that?
