It’s over
Inventory, that is. We had a pretty good one. Total store we shrank around .8, which is pretty normal for my company. My district has been all over the map this year though, with one of the stores ending up shrinking 1.3 and another one shrinking .2 where we normally trend within a few points of each other. No one seems to have any clue as to why we’re so spread out this year.
I got up just now for a drink of water and thought I saw something moving by my car, so I stopped and waited and saw a faint light, then a few minutes later I saw a flashlight, so I decided to go out and investigate. No I didn’t put anything on, I figured if they were going to mess around with my truck at 2330 they deserved whatever shock I gave ’em. Turns out it was one of my neighbors, the one that lives in the corner apartment. He was looking for a better cell signal so he could send some texts. Um, ok, you say so. The faint light was his cell phone screen and the time he turned on the flashlight he had dropped his lighter. I’d hate to have to start locking my truck at night, but if I notice him out there again I might feel compelled. That would take some of the luster off the place, ya know? I don’t think I’ve locked my truck when I was home more than two or three times in the past eighteen months, and not a whole lot more when I lived at the other place. I don’t even lock my apartment up when I’m not home unless I’m going to be gone overnight. It’s that kind of place. I like it.
We talked for a bit. I stayed on the porch and he was out by the truck (about five or so feet away) so I’m not sure if he realized I wasn’t wearing any clothes or not. He did, however, walk the long way around the house when we finally parted company. I only say that because going the long way around walks him past a rather large bush and then puts his head below the level of my deck before he turns the corner and the short way would have left nothing between us once he got past the truck. People are so weird sometimes.
Heard from Nala recently, so that might pick up again. I haven’t looked at my schedule for the next few weeks but I’m hoping I can coordinate a lunch with Fairy Godmother, myself, and Nala sometime soon. Of course with three jobs, a school schedule and two different towns it might take a little more effort than most lunches to plan, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
I really feel a little empty right now, but not desparate. I’m open to a relationship but I think I’d be OK without one. Probably be happier WITH one, but I’m not in a really needy place right now. I think. Hell, I might be needy, but I really don’t think so or I’d have cracked already and run back over to Critter’s place and told her I was all better and could we please hang out some more now? Please?
That’s all I got. I have to be at work in six and a half hours. Woohoo. Stupid neighbor. He should have waited a few more minutes so I wouldn’t have seen him and stayed up.
