Hey ToyMan! Copernicus called…

…and you are *not* the center of the universe.

I feel like an ass. The very worst thing to happen to me in the past ten or so years is Critter leaving me. That’s it. In that time I was a bit of a recluse, going "off the grid" so to speak. I didn’t keep up with old friends, I didn’t make much of an attempt to make new ones. In the past few days I’ve discovered, via Facebook updates, that four of my old friends lost their fathers, one of them lost their mother, others have divorced, and still others have had kids, gotten married, and generally contributed something to society. My particular situation pales in comparison, yet I’ve wasted countless hours and untold amounts of bandwith going on about Critter.

I guess maybe I needed some perspective is all.

Blondie found out today that I had said good-bye to Critter. She said it was about time. I’m getting a lot of that.

I had the same experience with my last ex. Everybody was overjoyed that I was rid of him. I knew the reasons for mine, but do you have any idea why in your case? Also, out of curiosity, what is the story behind your user name? đŸ™‚

Personally, I see nothing wrong with taking that time to mourn what you had, or tried to have, with Critter. Some people mourn the loss of loved ones for a lot longer. So what. She was the center of your universe. THAT’S OKAY! Copernicus can go get himself a new telescope ‘cuz the one he’s got has cracked lenses.
