This is why I rented the place

So here I sit at what is left of the alleged "patio set" that was here when I rented the place. It’s pretty well falling apart and I’ll probably take it down to the burn pile later this week. Anyway, Critter was in a pinch so I have K, and we’re sitting out on the front porch eating lunch. The weather is nice and we’re having a good time. So this is exactly why I rented the place, so I could have the nice porch and the large common area and do the entertaining I’ve always wanted to do. Of course as soon as I moved in everyone else moved away so that kind of fell through. I’m still going to buy a chiminea like my dad’s for when it gets cold again. I also need to get a decent grill but even the really expensive ones at the big box stores have stainless steel burners now so I’m either going to have to find someone that sells a conversion kit or go to a specialty store and pay through the nose for the cast brass burners I really want. They generally last eight to ten seasons of heavy use as opposed to two or three for the stainless steel or aluminum.

K is actually running around in her panties right now, it’s kind of chilly in the morning so Critter had her dressed a bit warmly for eating on the porch. She originally doffed her panties too but I think she sat on a splinter or something so she put them back on. Poor thing! She was really cranky earlier when we went to the store to get milk. I ended up getting her a Hannah Montana DVD with four or five television episodes on it, but she was being sweet then. It wasn’t until she wanted the "pink" milk (the skim milk at that store has pink tops) and I told her no that she started pointing at everything and saying "want that!" I figured that was a good time to bail. I drove her around town for a bit so she’d fall asleep, and she took about a fifteen minute nap total. She was only down for four or five minutes here at the house before she popped back up (in a much better mood) and wanted ‘aco Bell, which I had already gotten on the way home.

So here we are, out on the porch, eating lunch, drinking kool-aid, and generally enjoying the weather. Of course I’ll have to do something for shade down here where the eating area is. Direct sunlight on an LCD/TFT screen makes it hard to see. And since it’s got the glossy finish on it every fingerprint that has ever landed on it is showing as well. I’ll have to get some of those computer wipes next time I’m in town. Of course the fact that the body of the laptop is black is not helping matters either. Poor thing is getting a bit warm…

K is a lucky girl. It sounds like a most relaxing place to be, especially for after those difficult days at work.
