Oh yeah…

I forgot – I’ve got an oil leak too. I guess that’s good news since I thought the quart or so of oil that disappears from my engine block every eight or ten days was going into the cylinders and being burned, which would be really expensive to fix. Nope, I’ve got a leaky seal where the engine meets the transmission. Instead of my normal synthetic they put high mileage oil in it this time, and maybe that will recondition the seal enough to slow the leak so it can be repaired without taking the engine and transmission out of the vehicle.

Of course I may be to the point in the truck’s lifespan (ten years and 244,000 miles) where I should just fight a holding action against the decay and start looking for something else.

But I like my truck.

But I’ve got what could be a smokin’ hot BMW that needs attention as well. Where should the money go…

I’d say the BMW would help me in the getting lucky department, but I’ve never "gotten lucky" in it. The truck on the other hand…

Hmmm. Decisions decisions.

I’m about to run up to the cabin and spin it up to occupational readiness. I hate to do it so soon, but I won’t have another day off between now and when my parents arrive. I’ll have to crank the heat up though. It’s supposed to be at or near freezing overnights all week and there will be water in the pipes since they want me to clear the air out of the plumbing as well. They don’t like the showers spitting at them when they are trying to get clean.

Critter had a rough spot at work yesterday. She was the closer and forgot to lock up one of the new demo phones and it got stolen. Of course someone sent her that text while she was at dinner with OtherGuy to let her know. She sent me a text to find out what they’d probably do to her and I called her back and discussed it some. I think she’ll be OK. At most she’ll get reprimanded, especially since the phone in question has a GPS locater chip in it and AT&T can run it down fairly quickly once they find out about it. They may even be able to completely disable the phone remotely, which doesn’t help in the recovery but a) deprives the thief of their prize and b) offers a deterrent to future thievery.
