Got distracted

Ok. So there’s been some drama at work. After I had a brief conversation about something my return desk folks were doing wrong with one of the hourly managers, he decided that when I told him to let the other managers know he would send out an e-mail. Ok, no, not what I asked you to do, especially since you got it wrong in the e-mail. And then on top of the wrong procedure he also mentioned that they needed to be on the lookout for certain behaviors in one of the cashiers, and went on to detail those behaviors. Also, not what I asked him to do. If the contents of that last paragraph were to become known to the cashier in question we cold probably be sued. Idiot.

So I had to call him on the carpet and explain to him that he was not my secretary and when I asked him to let the others know it was to be a verbal, low-key, by the way, kind of thing and to let them know if they had questions to get with me.

I got behind on my paperwork so I’m gonna go in early today, but I’m not gonna tell them I’m there. Then later on during my admin time I can schedule employee reviews for the next three or four weeks and get caught up on attendance and over/short issues. I don’t think I"m very far behind on that sort of thing except for two of my folks and I think they are dodging me. By which I’m fairly certain they are making every effort to have their call-ins fall on days I am there so I can’t reprimand them. If I can prove that’s the case I’ll get one of the other managers to handle them for me next time they come in.

I haven’t heard from Nala in almost a week now, and I haven’t really had time to call or text her. I didn’t try to get in touch with her this weekend because she said she was busy and I didn’t want to bug her. I really hope I haven’t managed to screw this one up before we even got to meet.

We get our bonuses this week. Yippee!

I talked to the senior manager who does the schedules and he said it shouldn’t be a problem to get Ember’s birthday off, so yay! Inexpensive but tasty sushi for the ToyMan! Woohoo! And I get to see Ember too. And maybe AmandaC. Not sure about that one, we’re having problems contacting her. It seems her husband had been out of work a while when she got fired and neither of them has been able to find another job yet so things are starting to get turned off, either voluntarily or otherwise, so she has no cell phone and no land line at the house, and no Internet at the house either. I thin Ember’s sent her an e-mail, and I’m going to send one as well. I’ll also pop into Yahoo! Messenger and send one there so she can grab it next time she signs in. I’m not sure if she’s on any of the social networking sites I"m on or not, I’ll have to check…

That’s about all I got right now. I’m sure there was more stuff I wanted to mention, but I can’t remember it.
