RIP TiVo

Yep. My DVR is dead. After running through everything he knew to tell me to do over the phone he agreed with me that somehow the hard drive had been damaged or corrupted and was causing the malfunction. He was very apologetic. He said he loved the TiVo Series 2’s because they were *so* reliable, but every now and then one of them would go kaflooey and have to be replaced. He did say that they could exchange it for me for the low low price of $140, conincidentally the price of a *new* Series 2 DVR. I’ll have to wait until payday, so I’m pretty well screwed until then.

The good news is we are getting our bonus, yay! I’ll just have less of it left over than I thought I would. If the truck doesn’t cost too much I’ll just trade up to the TiVo HD XL DVR which is $599.
