Sorry, got carried away (it works, just put the extra syllables in "that" [2] and "dam" [3]). It’s still there, and it doesn’t look like it overtopped at all, but it’s still really close. The road beside the lake it forms is flooded, but there’s a small stream that runs beside the road that feeds the lake and collects the runoff from the hollow we’re in and funnels it down towards, well wherever it is that runoff goeas this far from the ocean.

I’ll be leaving in a few minutes, I’m just assuming that if my little rinky-dink road is open the larger ones will be too. This was some serious rain and thunderstorms folks. The animals were lining up in two’s without being told. Yeah, it was a lot of flippin’ rain.

Gonna go now. I’m really not looking forward to this at all.

Septic systems are great (see last entry) but you *have* to take care of them. If you aren’t going to spring for Rid-X then at least get it pumped out every five or six years, ya know?
