Bomb Threat
Had a bomb threat at work last night, it was my first, and of course I was alone.
I managed to do all the proper things, got the customers and employees out and then visually verified the building was empty. After I made the initial "unforeseen circumstance" announcement I had one of my hourly managers repeat it at regular intervals. I had two of my trusted regular hourlies split up and herd everyone forward while i finished up my "end of the world" routine in the office, securing what needed securing and scribbling down the phone numbers I needed out of the Emergency Procedures manual, wondering why the hell they weren’t already in my cell phone (they are now).
I’m rather proud of myself actually, I totally refrained from using the phrases "Red Alert!" or "All hands abandon ship!" even though they were both running through my head. I’d have felt better if the lights had turned red and we had some sort of alarm for that though…
Been noting back and forth with my fave. It seems my date and I are both nervous as all get out. The phrase "long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs" comes to mind. I think we’ll do OK though, assuming we don’t both pass out from the stress when we finally meet.
My folks totally didn’t get done last night. There’s going to be some accountability handed out and some heart to heart discussions. I’m pissed as hell and tired of their crap – they’ll start getting done or I’ll find people that *want* to get done.
Sounds scary but like you handled it well!

So what ended up with the bomb threat? Did police find out who it was? Why they made the threat?
