BuckBuck all over the place

Got to my meeting and was pleasantly surprised that I only had to stay until noon instead of 1700 like I was originally told. Yay! Our district manager gave us a little speech at the beginning of the class, something about these things were schedueld when they were for a reason, they were not optional, attendance was mandatory, blah, blah, blah. All in all I think it might have been a bit of backlash from what I told our last faciliator.

And surprise surprise, we got not two but four BuckBucks on Monday. I was really surprised. Apparently I was the only one, everyone else seemed to already know about the extras. Love the communication folks…

And to top it all off BuckBuck #4 is back at work. Ooops. That’s darned inconvenient since we’ve already replaced her. However, we were going to put in for BuckBuck #7 next year anyway so we’re still good. Or not. Yeah, there’s a problem with the math that I’m getting to.

So, to recap: #5 (Blondie) replaced #1; #6 was supposed to replace #4 (Twiggy), but instead ends up replacing the overnight manager who quit (she won’t actually be coming to overnights, but she replaces the headcount and Queeg will do some shuffling soon); #7 (StrangeBoy) we were going to try to get anyway in March or April if the financials worked out right.

#8 was supposed to replace me. That’s how convinced everyone was I was getting the job in Alaska. so now we have twelve managers when we really only need eleven, and we still have to replace AlaskaMan. There goes our bonus for the year…

At least this way I might get to do the modified 1600-0400 shift Queeg was talking about earlier. I really think that would help things out on the overnight shift a whole lot.

I’ve got D & B today. Critter sent me a text asking if they could ride the bus to my place if their dad flaked out again and I told her yes, but I might end up getting here a few minutes after they did. Good thing I got out of class when I did because they got here a whole hour earlier than I would have even gotten out, much less been able to get home, they must have changed the bus routes again. Critter will be here in a bit, she had to swing north of town to pick up K from the sitter first to save gas. Right now we have plans to do breakfast on Friday to catch up. It kind of makes me wish we were going to do what we *used* to do on Thursday nights before Friday breakfast, but I suppose that will pass eventually.

D & B are watching Meet the Robinsons. They wanted to watch it last time but didn’t have time. B has a cold poor thing. She doesn’t cough a whole lot but when she does it’s a nasty deep hacking cough. I really hope it doesn’t end up being the flu or something. D, B, & K are all on Medicaid since their sperm donors haven’t done their bit and provided insurance like they were supposed to. Critter has coverage through work, but the way the plans are sructured (and with her only part-time) it would pretty much take her entire check to cover the kids too. All in all I don’t mind the people of the Great State of Georgia helping with the kids’ insurance as long as Critter is providing a house, clothes, and food. Of course I’m biased…

And yes, I could have provided insurance for the kids if we had gotten married, and I had planned on it. It would have meant a lot fewer pizzas and no new TV in January but we’d have managed.
