Been tired and busy *Edit*

I forgot one of the BuckBucks so I’ve renumbered them…

They’ve worn me out. I think I’ve only just recovered from the twenty-some hour day I had two weeks ago. Seriously, it drained me and screwed me up for that long.

I saw Carla last night. Her project is over at the end of the week and she’ll be coming back to the store. I told her these are great experiences, and I honestly think my time on the project is what got me my job as a manager. She agreed that it has been a great experience, and she said she has learned to really delegate things, not just have someone help her do something like she’s been doing all these years. I told her my story about the cart and she laughed at me, but said she’s seen the same thing on her project.

If you check my front page you’ll see I’ve added a few new characters to the cast. They are all real people, mind you, but I’m not using real names here in order to protect myself. And maybe them too. To bring you up to speed on the BuckBuck‘s:

BuckBuck #1 – From my old store, promoted from layaway straight to manager with no floor or hourly management experience at all. She stepped down and transfered to a store closer to home in August. It was probably best for her and us.

BuckBuck #2 – Still at the store and a bit of a busy-body but she gets her stuff done. She was promoted and trained at the same time as #1, but she has more experience to call on from her days as an hourly. I just wish she’d leave the store in better shape for the overnight shift than she does.

BuckBuck #3 – (Mego) Not a new manager, in fact he was *my* manager when I was in my old store. He was also Ember’s manager and I don’t think they got along very well. He recently transfered in.

BuckBuck #4 – She lasted a total of three weeks before going out on a personal leave. Normally we don’t get paid for personal leaves (mine was medical) but somehow she managed to swing getting paid. She’s trying to get her old job as an hourly manager back, she’s seriously miserable, and Queeg treated her like crap. She’s supposed to be back at the end of the month but I’m thinking she probably won’t be. She said I was the only manager who made any effort to help her and she was dissapointed that BuckBuck #’s 1 & 2 didn’t try to make her feel welcome, especially since they went through the *new* training program and should have known what difficulties she was having.

BuckBuck #5 & #6 – Two brand spanking new managers who haven’t even finished training yet. We’ll get to meet them a few weeks before they get here, but they won’t officially be managers until the after-Thanksgiving madouse sets in. Great timing. I’ve actually worked with #5 (Blondie) before (she’s also from my old store) and I think she’s going to be fine. I’ve never met #6 before. We’re also due for BuckBuck #7, but we haven’t even asked for that position to be filled yet so it’ll be a while yet. I would think no sooner than March, if then.

The remaining senior manager told me he gets an interview for that store he told me about next week. I’m really hoping he gets it and that he’ll still want me if he does. That would be SOOOOO cool, and would make promotion that much simpler when I was done with that assignment.

Going to be now. Didn’t get a lot of sleep since I had to go into work in the middle of the day to fill out a report for Queeg that I’d been trying to fill out for three weeks, but she wouldn’t give me the form. Suddenly when she’s going to be out of town for five days it’s really frakking important for me to come in right now and get it filled out, never mind I had to work last night.
