Really awake this time

Wow. Sleep r good.

It’s just shy of 0830 now and I’m up for the day. I crashed around 1700 yesterday (we got out of class way early) and only woke up once around 2300 to go potty, then I was down again until around 0330 when I wrote my last entry, and now I’m up again.

I see I’ve neglected to mention a few things over the past week or so…

ToyLady may be leaving the company. Just threw that in because I’d just heard about it. It turns out AlaskaMan and his wife are friends with her and the "boyfriend". I haven’t seen her since I got out of the program, so no big deal.

AlaskaMan’s new boss is having to go to corporate to try to get him released from his current job. Our district manager doesn’t want him to go until after Thanksgiving, but that store has a lot of eyes on it right now and he really needs to be there. He’s really frustrated. He’s been Gazetted, so it’s all official and everything but he’s not going to be comfortable until he actually gets to the store and reads himself in. I would be the same way.

The store in Alaska I applied for (turns out we have three) has re-posted the position I interviewed for three times since the interview. I must have really sucked beyond the telling of it to go to that kind of trouble.

Three different managers for the project group have turned me down without so much as an interview in the past week. I have more aps in with them, but I just found out they had a huge RIF last year and they are probably trying to get all the folks they pushed out to operations back into the project group, so those postings may just be formalities.

Lots of openings down in Florida, but I really don’t want to move back there.

Still haven’t heard from the store by Ember,  which could be good or bad. The way the HR position is set up when the opening gets closed for whatever reason (it was filled, it was opened by accident, they changed their minds) I’ll get an automatic e-mail from the HR computer telling me the opening was closed and I was not selected. I haven’t gotten that e-mail yet. I may call the facility manager down there next week and check on it, or maybe their district HR manager.

Since AlaskaMan is going and we are already short four managers at my level Queeg told me Tuesday night that the other overnight manager and I would be going to five days, she just didn’t have a choice. She did say that she was going to cut us back to ten hours from twelve though, so that’s good. I just hope I’m able to get the store stocked and cleaned having to watch both sides on a regular basis. I’ve only done it a few times so far. She’s trying to get us more stockers but it’s a long process.

Gonna go eat now. Later!

Sounds complicated. Must be a huge store. I have worked retail but not for any big mega stores. Just clothing stores.

Can’t say I blame you on the whole “Not wanting to move to FL” thing! I JUST got out of there. I have NO plans on ever moving back. Many fond memories…maybe some future visits…that is all Florida will ever have for me. Good Luck on the new shift. 10 hours…ick. Whip them stockers into shape! It can be done, with the right crew. Have faith! TTYL
