Totally Random

Caught the President’s address tonight. I think he made a good case for the bailout and answered a lot of the questions I had. I think he could have sold it better from the Oval though. Not sure why they staged it from where they were.

Picked up my dad’s mower from Critter’s place today since I’ll be going by their place tomorrow. She was upset when I called but wouldn’t admit it. She finally talked about it when I got there. D & B’s father was supposed to pick them up from school today but didn’t. The school didn’t call Critter until the day care was about to close, two and a half hours later. The normal charge for that is a base of $30/child then they add on $1/minute/child. The lady in charge rolled the charge back to fifty bucks though because she had an ex that did the same thing to her. Critter’s pissed as hell at their dad. He claims he’ll get her the money tomorrow, and that he’s mailing off this month’s child support check tomorrow as well, which is funny because just last week he assured her that he had mailed it already. She’s gonna sic DFACS on him tomorrow because he’s three or four months behind as it is.

I told her to make a list of people the school was supposed to call if the kids didn’t get picked up and to make sure I was on it. She said she already had, and I was number two on the list after their grandparents. I’m not sure if current boyfriend made the list at all but I didn’t ask.

I know, I know, too much involvment. I can’t help it. I love those kids like they were my own and regardless of whatever is going on in my head/heart I can’t leave the kids hanging in the wind. She thanked me for volunteering though, even though she’d already volunteered me.

I told her that regardless of what else was going on, if she needed help with anything she needed to call me. I told her that I wasn’t going to stop being her friend, regardless of whatever else happens. I actually told her "you jump, I jump." Yeah, I’m sap. And that worked out so well for Jack…

I dropped off her Seattle goodies and some stuff K left over here the other night. I think I was over there for about forty-five minutes or so before I left. She really liked the postcards I got her and she sniffed at the coffee three or four times. I told her that since Seattle is the coffee capital of America it really didn’t make sense for me to not get her some. I told her about the t-shirts I wanted to get for the kids and she laughed.

I have some laundry to do so I might go up tonight. I don’t know though. I asked Critter if she wanted to do the normal Thursday hang out thing but she’s got plans so I might just spend the day up there. I’ve got a serious pizza craving right now, so I may get me a Meat Lover’s tomorrow from Pizza Hut.
