More babysitting and rambling

Well, OD is down again. It seems the Evil Sith Scripter had more passwords than they thought. I hope they catch this guy. I’m thinking it either has to be a current user who has been chastised by the staff for rule breaking or a former user who has been banned. Or a friend thereof, to cover all the bases.

It seems that Lexar know what they are about when it comes to making flash drives. I washed mine by accident and not only does it still work there was absolutely no data loss/corruption. Cold water, gentle cycle, air dry, but you really aren’t supposed to wash things like that. It’s the 2GB one for $20 that Wal-Mart had a few months back, not sure if they still do.

I completely wasted yesterday. Really, I did. I totally spaced on a blood-drive I had signed up for (as a donor) even though it was in my phone. I guess having your schedule in the phone doesn’t help if you don’t look at it. While I was forgetting to give blood (I’m A+, don’t have a cow, there’s not a shortage) I was playing Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. I know, not the most productive thing in the world, but it was my day off. Of course I had things that needed doing (renewing my driver’s license, buying a few groceries, etc.) that didn’t get done, and they’ll probably not get done today either since I’ve got K again.

She just got up from her nap. I picked her up around 0845 and we ran into town and I did manage to get a few groceries before she started getting tired. Not wanting her to get fussy because she was tired I wrapped things up and came on home. She almost fell asleep in the car, and I swear if the highway were a little smoother she would have. Anyway, once we got here I put her in my bed and lay down next to her and pretended to be taking a nap too, which she found very amusing. I nearly did fall asleep, and I think I might have for a few minutes, but she was finally asleep and I gently got up and came out to the front room. She’s been awake for almost an hour now, but she didn’t want to actually get up until about fifteen or so minutes ago.

OK, note to self, K does not like lime Kool-Aid. You should have seen the face she made. I had to rinse the sippy cup out and re-fill it with milk. And of course the Kool-Aid did not go to waste: I poured it into my own glass and drank it.

We’re both watching Alton Brown’s newest series Feasting on Waves on my TiVo right now. It seems to be much better than Feasting on Asphalt. I only let that one run fifteen or so minutes before I got bored and deleted it. We’re almost completely done with the first hour of Waves.

I’m trying her out on Disney/Pixar’s Meet the Robinsons. Of course she’s laying down on the couch, she may just fall asleep again. Critter’s gonna kill me if she’s up all night.

I broached the subject of Alaska with Critter in person today, explaining why I wanted to know if she had ever wanted to live there. She started into a full-blown “Norman, coordinate” meltdown so I backed it off just a tad. If a job comes up I’ll bring it up again and see what she says after letting her subconscious play with it for a while. As you can see in one of her notes Ember suggested I try to get Critter to move to Norcross so we’d all be in the same area.

My stovetop is clean again. I really let it slide; I’m a little disgusted at myself. It’s nice and sparkly and white again now so all’s good. I’m even soaking the grates (it’s a gas stove) in hot soapy water and scrubbing them when they’ve sat there a while. I know, they’re supposed to be black, but I think they’re also supposed to be fairly smooth as well.

I’m a bit disgusted with TiVo right now. I’m trying to get a season pass for Knight Rider, which premiers on the twenty-fourth, but a search of their website comes up with “Sorry, no shows found with "Knight Rider" in the title, subtitle or description in the next 14 days.” Last time I checked twenty-four minus twelve was less than fourteen. I could be wrong though…

Of course that same search of the TiVo website turned up nothing for The Mentalist as well but I managed to grab a season pass for that on my DVR. I’ve already tried that with Knight Rider and it didn’t work there either.

No telling when this will make it up on the site, so I’m going to go now.

I really need to try out Lego Star Wars. I really liked Lego Indy. You know, as a Pixar fan, I’m pretty sure they didn’t have anything to do with Meet the Robinsons. It’s a Disney only film. Supposed to be pretty good though. *goes to put it on the rental list* Impressive that the flash drive survived.
