Back from town
Had lunch with Ember while I was in town. That was fun. She complained that I don’t write as much as I used to. I told her I’ve been really tired, but I should be able to get back in the saddle any time now.
Interesting thing happened a little while ago. As is now customary for me I got undressed shortly after I got home and left my clothes in the bedroom. While I was laying on the couch playing a video game someone knocked on the door, and since you can see the entire front room from the door I really had no choice but to go answer it. Now I don’t care who sees me nude but I don’t like forcing myself on people and there’s no sign on the door or anything indicating I might be nekkid. Anyway, I got up, walked over and opened the door to a total stranger wearing nothing but my ring.
He was asking about the, well, he called it a cabin but it’s more of a two-room hut, at the bottom of the hill. I told him the landlord’s name and gave him the number, but I told him if it were available it’d be in the paper. I also told him I thought the landlord was doing a bit of remodeling down there and it might not be available yet even though there’s no one living there now. He thanked me and left, no comments on my nudity. Cool. I should probably get a sign or something though so I don’t feel guilty answering the door nude anymore.
I might be headed back into town after Ember gets off from work so we can watch the fireworks from the top of the hill just outside her apartment complex. It’s got to have a pretty good view since people normally start setting up their viewing spots two or three hours before they’re scheduled to start. I don’t know if I’ll even be able to get into the complex or not. I’ll have to ask her when she calls.
Hmm. Wasn’t it your house? Wasn’t he on private property? He shouldn’t have anything to complain about from what I can see. You have a huge heart, ToyMan. It’s sad to see it struggle so. Hang in there. When life does resolve itself out, these sad times will seem like just an illusion to the past.
