Oh the drama

OK, I overslept a little yesterday and ended up getting in to work about ten minutes late. We had a pot load of freight last night and four people that decided being sick was more important than coming to work. My side got all but one department done, and it’s not a high volume department during the morning so day shift has plenty of time to piddle with it before the traffic there picks up around 1600 or so.

Of course there was drama on the other side, but she-who-must-not-be-named was off today so we got away with it.

One if the day shift managers really ticked me off though. She’s the one that is out the door no later than thirty seconds after her scheduled time off and has blithely informed us that "she can’t make us stay, we have a schedule, it’s against the law to  *make* us stay".  At 0820, twenty minutes after my shift was over, I was in the office finishing up some paperwork when she walked in and told me I needed to get out on the floor and throw some freight. Kiss my royal red a**.

Oh, the reason Critter needed the magnet is she dropped one of her brand new earrings down the drain in the sink. Yeah, she’s only had these things for thirty or so hours and poof! She’s borrowed a monkey wrench though and should be able to extract it with no problems. Or I might get a phone call later today…

They aren’t expensive, but she bought them to sleep in to keep her piercings from closing up again. This is her fourth go at having her ears pierced, and they ladies that did them said if it didn’t take this time she might be one of those people that just can’t have piercings. One of them is already mildly infected even though she’s followed all the after-care instructions to the letter. She’s trying to get it cleared up without leaving the posts out but if it gets any worse she’ll have to risk it closing up on her.

My upstairs neighbor is still here. I can only hope all the heavy objects were moved yesterday so I can get some sleep and try to be at work on time.

Oh yeah, met up with Ember Friday afternoon and we spent some time together so we’re pretty much good for now. Not sure if I mentioned that earlier. How did I forget doing a whole entry about that? I must be tired. Night all!
