Stupid crap

I was looking over the management schedule at work last night and saw an interesting note at the bottom of it: "check daily, changes will be made." The reason I find that interesting is that she has been harping on us for the past three or four months about getting our schedules into the system and correct before we are locked out by corporate. She’s been telling us that all the changes to the schedules scribbled on the board have got to stop, it’s ridiculous, we’re being paid to manage our people and schedules are part of it and we can no longer make hand-written changes to the schedules once they are posted without getting her permission first. But our schedules (done only one more week in advance than the hourlies) will be changing daily. Whatever.

One other thing I noticed, she’s got the overnight managers working five days the week before inventory and the week of inventory. This has got to just be her being petty. There’s no reason for it. There are seven managers at my level who work during the day, and only three of us at night. We are already working four twelve hour days, which admittedly is two whole hours less than our day shift counterparts, but while we’re working sixty hours those two weeks, they are still only working fifty. So there are twice as many managers on days, probably three times as many hourlies on days, and we’re the ones with the extra shifts. What the hell?

I’ve got more on one of the other managers but I’ll leave that for later, I need to get some sleep.
