A day in the life
I got up this morning and drove over to work to drop my forms off so they wouldn’t fire me for not showing up. They said I looked like I was doing better. Well I guess I am doing better since I don’t have people telling me I suck all the damn time. As of right now I’ll be out through April 4th, but the therapist could extend that if she thought I needed it.
After my trip to work I came back and took a nap. The original goal was to watch Meet the Robinsons again but I fell asleep about twenty minutes into it and woke up about ten minutes or so before the ending. After that I went into town to buy some stuff, I needed some cables for my entertainment center and some for Ember’s, I also needed some super glue and light bulbs and whatnot. It turns out that the reason my Lava Lamp© has been acting funny is the bulb someone (Critter) sold me last time was the wrong wattage: it needs a 25 and I had a 40 in it. Oops! I bought a DVD to replace one of my tapes, and I also bought Stargate: The Ark of Truth because I have to know how the Ori saga ends up. I bought a floor lamp too, but I’m a little disappointed in the results. I certainly hope it does better after the sun goes down.
I priced new phones today, and I can get a newer Treo for around sixty dollars with a two-year AT&T activation. I may do that after I get my car window fixed which I hope happens this week. I have to get that money spent and gone before I get any ideas about a phone. However, the aforementioned super glue has managed to hold my Treo 650 together, so I’m switching back to that from my RAZR for now. I just can’t stand not having everything I need right there in my hand. I had the Treo for almost two years, I think, before it started coming apart on me. I guess I got spoiled.
Critter and I had lunch today. I saw her when I was shopping and told her that since I was officially on leave now, that anytime she wanted to have lunch and I wasn’t in therapy or at the doctor to just give me a call, and she said how about today! So I said sure. After I dropped Critter back at work I went by Ember’s house to try and figure out her entertainment center, and I need one more part to make it work like she wants it to, but she’ll still have to run the PS/2 through her DVD/VCR combo to have them both connected. She’s using an older central unit so I have to be a little creative on the hook-ups, but hey, it was free so you really can’t ask for anything more. I checked up on her ferret too. She’s so cute! It took me a while to find her (she sleeps a lot) because the last place I checked was her basket next to Ember’s bed. Entering Ember’s bedroom without an invitation or a warrant is just bad news, so I held off as long as I could. I uncovered her and she seemed unimpressed with me; she yawned and then rolled over so I covered her back up. A few minutes later she scampered out into the living room and I played with her for about thirty minutes before she wandered off under the dining room table and was sniffing along the wall like she was looking for something.
That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m going to go over and pop in one of my new DVD’s and play with my Treo some. I missed my Treo.
