Family, friends, and work

Gotta go into work early tomorrow so I can get my paperwork caught up and go on my freakin vacation. I also have an interview and two job offers to go over with people in addition to at least two reviews. The last day before vacation shouldn’t be so stressful. Of course I had planned to have the paperwork done already but the doorknob fell off the office door but the locking mechanism didn’t, so we had to wait for a locksmith to come fix it and I didn’t get the paperwork done in the time I had set aside for it.

I got the baby to bed tonight with absolutely no drama. The past two nights she’s been the drama queen, but I guess she’s gotten used to me. And I let her take a bath tonight, which she absolutely loves. Well, I should say she likes getting all soapy, but doesn’t so much like the rinsing part. I may be doing it wrong, but I’m just using a cup to pour water over her to rinse her off, and I’m being careful to keep the water and soap out of her eyes. I’ll have to see how Critter does it next time.

Haven’t had much time for Ember lately, and I feel bad about it. I miss her, too, and I know Critter understands we’re friends and all but I have kid things and Critter things and work things I have to do all at the same time. I really thought I’d have more time to integrate everyone and everything, but I think it’ll be OK. Ember and I have gone through worse and Critter and I are determined to make this work, not that it’s actually taking a lot of effort right now. A little prodding on her part now and then, but not a lot of effort. She’s trying to get the kid’s dads to take them two weekends a month now instead of the one they normally do (they’re supposed to get them every weekend, and Critter has never told them no, but they don’t) to help out with the whole what to do with the kids while we’re at work thing.

Chatted on AIM with Sammie some. He’s well but doesn’t like the base he’s at, which is rough ’cause he’s gonna be there eighteen or so months at the very least.
