Inventory, Sleep, and more changes

Ok. Now I’m caught up on my sleep mostly. We had inventory this week and we pressed hard to get ready a day early so we could just finesse and nit-pick the day before and get everything “just right”. Of course I got a call that morning at 05:30 (I was due in at 08:00) saying a sprinkler pipe in the back room had burst and I needed to get in to work ASAP. We spent our “finesse” day getting the back room re-prepped and sorting out the damaged merchandise from the undamaged. It all had to be counted, but we wanted to be able to send the bad stuff off as soon as the inventory crew told us it was ok to do it. I think we all squeezed in about seventy or so hours this past week, and we’re all a little rough around the edges because of it.

Inventory was great, by the way. Our shrink was at 0.6% and anything under 0.8% is good. Yay!

Talked to Critter today, and it looks like we’ll be moving in together rather sooner than expected. Like as soon as we can get a budget together and find a place. We’re both going nuts not being able to see each other when we want to. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a place out along the highway I take to get to work. That’ll put me closer to work (saving gas/money) and the kids in the right school district, which will let them ride the bus in the morning (saving even more gas/money) and letting her work a little more each week. I don’t know what her ex-boyfriend/current roommate is going to do for transportation though; he’s been driving her car for the past two or three years. Sucks to be him I guess.

The older kids were at her mom’s place so she brought the youngest over and we watched Donnie Darko. The baby fell asleep about halfway through and we got, ahem, distracted, so I had to watch it again after they went home. It’s a good movie.
