How it happened when Cloud Shape visited my date

OK, here we go.

The date was cut short because Amanda called during the date. My date, Dirty Girl, who knows Amanda, asked if she knew we were on a date, and I said yes. She said to answer it, it must be important. It was. Amanda had now had proof of what she had been suspecting for a week or so now: her boyfriend was cheating on her and was on her way to confront him.

After checking with Dirty Girl (DG), who said it was perfectly fine to cut things short, there were a lot of phone calls to arrange for someone to meet Amanda at my place so she wouldn’t be alone (I was about an hour south of town at the only decent theater complex in the area) and to make sure Amanda wasn’t upside down in a ditch because the road she was on is treacherous during the day when you aren’t hysterical, and it was now 2100 and very dark.

It turns out I actually beat Amanda home, and Ember came over with cookies and ice cream for her. After Ember left Amanda broke down again, and all I could do was hold her. She slept in the bed next to me Friday night (we were both wearing PJ’s) so she wouldn’t have to be alone. There was no naughtiness, we didn’t even sleep intertwined, we just slept next to each other. It’s a good thing I’m not dating her though because she’s a bit of a bed hog.

Amanda and I spent the day together Saturday, and she went to visit some other friends that afternoon. So far all of ex-boyfriend’s friends are firmly on Amanda’s side on this, so that makes her feel good.

Later that night, I met up at the Waffle House with Ember and DG, who had spent the day together at Amber’s house learning some leather craft skills. We had a light dinner and good conversation. DG and I sat on one side of the booth (I had my arm around her) and Ember sat on the other side. It occurred to me at that point that Ember didn’t know anything about us having been on a date, but she didn’t say anything. When we left, I took DG to get her car and Ember went home. After I left her at her car, DG came over to my place and we watched the newer “Planet of the Apes”.

And that’s all a gentleman can say about what went on during the weekend. But I do have a girlfriend now.
