Almost back on the program
It’s cold out. I walked today. It was just a mile, and it took twenty minutes instead of my normal fifteen, but considering I haven’t walked regularly since July I guess that’s doing pretty well. I have walked some here and there in the mean time, but not on a regular basis and never more than three or so miles at a time. I should be doing six a day now, and I’ll work my way up to it pretty quickly, but it bothers me some that I’m not there now.
Of course, I should be almost to my target weight of 180lbs by now too, and I’m currently sitting at 279. And yes, at the end of the project in October I was down to 265, I’ve screwed up a bit.
Anyway, if I get back on the diet and walking gig and start losing at the same rate I was targeting before (my actual weight loss was well ahead of target when I started the project, and only a few weeks behind at the end) I’ll be down to 180 by next Christmas. Hopefully the sit-ups will do something for my pants size before then. That’s actually a little more important to me. I want to get back down to a 36×32 at the most. 34×32 would be better. My smallest waist as an adult was 32×32, but I was nineteen, living on my own for the first time, and didn’t know how to buy groceries properly so I always had an empty fridge. Of course, back then I was so busy at work and I actually had a social life so I really didn’t think that much about eating either. Two large pizzas and a few gallons of coke could get me through the week with no problem.
The upshot of the pants size thing is this: if I don’t LOOK fat I’ll feel better and it’ll be easier to lose the weight. Right now I’m still in a 42×32.
I am so very proud of you for walking! I used to be an avid walker, I got away from it though, I walked 45 minutes 6 days a week. You have inspired me to start again! I do swim alot in the summer, but I have been lax in exercising since! Kudos to you! You do notice after a period of time you can cover the same distance in less time! Hugs and smiles……..

My son has a terrible weight problem. Plus he is short too, pants are hard to find .So I understand where you are coming from, he fights it all the time. He took it all off 5 years ago at Weight Watchers, but when he started teaching high school , he stressed ate and gained it all back plus some! I worry about his health. Hugs & hugs…….

I have a few pounds to lose as well. It would help if I’d stay OFF the sun porch where the freezer is and stop gnawing on frozen fudge left over from Christmas…lol. Oh well, I’ll get it off. I lost 4lbs from having the flu.
