Full but fun day

Wow! I had a really busy and fun day today! First off Ember, Sammie (and I call him Sammie here because that’s what Ember calls him here, that’s not what I call him IRL) and I all trekked off to see his recruiter for the twice-monthly check-in, but the recruiter wasn’t there. In fact none of them were there, the office was locked and the lights were out. We walked around the mall and checked out a few shops, always checking back at he office every half-hour or so to see if anyone had shown up. No one ever did and we left to go have lunch and walk around the Hobby Lobby, which was a really big one. It was about the size of an old Wal-Mart (without the groceries) or a regular grocery store. I’ve never seen one that big before.

Anyway, we wandered around in there for probably an hour or more. Lots of cool stuff to spend money on but I didn’t, since I didn’t really need any of it. Ember bought some embroidery floss and has been making bracelets and things. She gave me the first one she made, and since I’m such a klutz she had to tie it on for me too. It looks good. I like it.

When we got back we all had fish, rice, corn and hushpuppies for dinner, which Ember cooked. She did a really good job on the fish. After dinner we sat around and watched DVD’s. Sammie was playing a computer game and Ember was making bracelet things at the same time, but the overall activity was the DVD watching.

We met some friends at the WaHo and that pretty much ended the day.  There was lots of fun and lots of buddy time with Ember and Sammie. Thanks guys, I know going to the recruiter is normally just an “Ember/Sammie” thing, and I’m glad you let me come along.
