Food good, my store not so much

Dinner with Ember and Sammie last night was very good. We had chicken pieces from the grill over rice with broccoli. Yes, Ember got me to eat broccoli, which should tell you how good the meal was. Not sure if I’ve mentioned it before but I have broccoli issues stemming from an incident when I was ten or so. Not going to go into any details but it was seriously unpleasant.

Stopped by the store last night and put in for my vacation. I’ve been told that it will be approved, but he couldn’t do it then for political reasons.

Apparently there’s been a bit of housecleaning going on while I’ve been gone. One of the assistant managers has left the company after ten years of employment. She was working overnights and needed to go back on days because of something new with her kids. She was told she hadn’t done her six months on overnights yet and she had to stay where she was, so she quit. I understand why, but I wish there had been something the company could have done to keep her, she was really good at her job. I didn’t always agree with her methods, but she always got us where we needed to be. One of the hourly managers was terminated for theft, as was one of the cashiers. There were two separate incidents going on there, they weren’t working together.

That’s pretty much it for now. I have to run off and do my laundry. Maybe someday I’ll be able to afford my own machines again. I used to have a washer and a dryer, but I moved to a place with no hook-ups and couldn’t afford to store them, so they went bye-bye. Now I have hookups but no machines. Bummer.

Isn’t it a hassle to go do your laundry? I remember when my son was born, (many, many years ago) lugging a diaper pale down the steep steps from our upstairs apartment, ewwwwwwwwww. Now whenever my washer or dryer goes out, I use my neighbors, we help each other like that! It’s funny the things you take for granted until you don’t have them anymore, or they are broke! TC
