Meetings and more meetings
It’s all a blur nowadays
Its actually a miracle that I haven’t run into someone that I knew when I worked at Stanford. When you’re on the help desk, people generally remember you, and yet no one has mentioned they have talked with me
I had a round of second interviews yesterday morning, and I think it went really well
I met with 3 people and I was there for 2 hours
At least it’s a second round of interviews, its getting a little tiring going to all these first rounds, making an impression, trying to get going with a new job
I finally couldn’t handle it anymore and talked with the VP of HR about my situation. We talked at length about it all, and she agreed, if she were in my shoes, she would do the same things.
Its clear that it hasn’t been a fit here for quite a while and she said that I don’t have to worry about my job or any of the other things that I was stressing about. She said to just be professional, try to group my interviews if I can so that I can take a day off and to be honest with them.
She said to talk with my managers, which I haven’t done yet as N is on travel and I haven’t had a moment to talk with C yet.
Once I explained to her how I was feeling and what I was dealing with, in my gut, she understood and said that I did the right thing by taking her aside to chat.
I am taking tomorrow off as I have an interview with the Dance Department (you should have heard the girls laughing last night when I told them that!) and then another one in the afternoon with Computer Sciences in the William Gates Computer Sciences Building (I know you’re impressed, settle down)
And I got a call today (finally) from Stanford Temps…they are sending my resume over to a group that needs a temp to perm assistant, and the bonus is I won’t have to take a cut in pay!
Not so sure how I feel about working temp since I have so many things in the fire. We’ll see how it all goes and decide at that time.
Is it just me or is all the positive prayer work and letting go working?
it’s working = )

Thanks for your note. You don’t specifically request to be added to my Favourites List, but I’ve added you any way. I like your diary – I’ll certainly drop by again at some point, although sadly, work is keeping me away from OD far too much at the moment.
