No stone unturned

I am sitting here chuckling to myself like a mad woman

As many of you know, I am not happy with my current job situation and have been actively looking for a new gig

My main focus has been back at Stanford, and have had 3 interviews for 3 different areas within the University

Every day, I go to the jobs website and see if there is anything new and apply for things I think are a good fit for me

Sometimes, I go to the extreme, like applying for the Assistant Track and Field Coach.  Hey, its not that much of a stretch considering I was an Olympic caliber athlete (GO USA, winning the GOLD in women’s discus…woot!)

So imagine how tickled I was when I saw the position of Director of Baseball Operations

Yeah, you know I was all over that!

And come to find out, even with my administrative background, I actually think I have a shot at something like that

Its a lot of event planning, management of travel and team organization, I mean its really right up my alley

So I applied, sent in my resume and just figured what the heck right?

Imagine my immense surprise when I opened my email and saw this random message in my junk mail.  Mind you, I normally don’t open emails that have no subject since a lot of them are spam, but for some reason I was compelled to open it

It was from the Deputy Athletic Director of Stanford Athletics notifying me of receiving my resume and letting me know that I would be hearing from them in a week or so (I highly doubt that but WOW, talk about excited)

I emailed him back, giving him some idea of where I am coming from and we’ll see what happens

Mar will flip when I tell her…she’ll be at every game and will probably want to meet the players…this is really exciting

I may have to continue thinking outside the box and apply for other sports related jobs!
