Decision 2008

It’s 1 a.m. and I am still sitting here in front of the TV watching the results flow in from all over the country.  We’ve already watched the live speech Obama gave from IL.  And I have to say DH and I are very pleased with the outcome of today’s election.

In the past 8 years neither DH or I have been able to stomach sitting through any of the STate of the Union addresses or any other speeches Bush has given.  Simply because of his poor speaking abilities, and overall lack of interest to the two of us.  But DH said that he could easily sit and listen to any speech Obama gives because he is such an exceptional speaker.  And I have to say I agree. I will be interested to listen to what he has to say.  I’m interested to see where he can take this country.

It was time for a change in this country.  Can one person change all of the problems our country currently faces?  No.  I’m not that ignorant.  Can one person start getting our country back on the right path towards getting better?  You bet.  And I have high hopes that the next 4 years will be about just that.  I have hope.  Whether people agree or not doesn’t really matter.  If people like Obama or not, doesn’t really matter.  What matters is that we were in need of some kind of change.  Tonight we saw the first step in the direction of change.  77 more days of our current reign of bad luck…….  The countdown has begun.

And that’s all I’ll say about that.

I’m counting down the days until Bush is no longer in office. 🙂
