To our dearest friend, MRK, who was born September 23, 1935 and entered enteranl life February 12, 2007.

It has been 19 long months since you were greeted at the gates of heaven. God has gained a beautiful shining Angel.We were left with amazing cherishable memories to forever live on.

Life has not been nor will it ever be the same without you. Although, we know that you are no longer suffering and that you are resting and free from all the pain, we still miss you dearly.

If thoughts could speak they will say, you are always on my mind . There is not a day that passes I don’t think of you. I talk to the kids often about you, you have instilled the true meaning of Love , you are our true Love just as they were yours.

We have always been and will continue to be grateful of all the wonderful funny stories you shared with us and promise you we will share these stories with your "grandkids".  K still remembers you and talks of you often.  J never had the privilege of growing up and getting to know you like his brother.  But rest assured, he will grow to learn about you from all of our memories.  And while not having you around now is not the same, he will grow to love you just as all of us do.

I can’t bake you a cake, or get you your favorite meal today.  I can’t bring the boys to run happily around you, or send a card your way.  All I can do this year is remember you and all of the times I was able to do all of those things.  I thought of visitng you today.  But the thought of having to stand at your grave to celebrate this day just seemed to hard.  Instead I’m celebrating you by remembering you in my mind and heart today, talking to the kids about you, and missing you like every other day since you left.  So Happy Birthday!  I wish you were here to say that to in person and to share the day with.

If you had any faults
you kept them all from me.
Humor, love and modesty
were all that I could see.

I’m so sad to have lost you
as all who knew you are.
I know it’s only Heaven
but it seems so very far.

I don’t know that you can hear us,
those of us still here on Earth-
but a happy birthday to you
on this anniversary of your birth.

This day is still a special one
for it’s when your life began.
You were a hero, "father", friend and "grandpa"-
one truly terrific man.

You meant the world to your friends, family,
and to your "grandchildren"–yes, your little Goober men.
