I’ve been helping my mom today with the shopping. It was funny to see her in the little motorized cart. We went and got pretty much everything we needed on the list. A few other items will need to be bought at a larger chain grocery store. It wasn’t too crowded either, which is always nice.
I had to take my car in today and get the brakes looked at. Pretty bad damage though- I mean, I have 95,000 miles on my 2006 mazda 3, so I expected the fixing to be pretty steep. Ugh. Try $368. Good thing Matt got paid today. We will go and pick up the car later today.
While I was buying Bailey’s for the holiday’s, I totally got hit on by the checker. He said, ‘you know, you look like that girl from Lake Placid. Bill Pullman’s in that movie, but I can’t think of her name. She’s very pretty.’ Ha! I blushed, and said something like, ‘oh well, uh, thanks, uhhh I can’t think of her name either’… ‘well, she’s got a really pretty smile, a very pretty girl’…. I told him I would go home and look her up. He was my age, not some old fart, so it was nice to hear a compliment from a complete stranger. Turns out it’s Bridget Fonda…

awww! thats cute! and 368? I wish! Tom needs brakes, so his parts alone are over 500. if we took it to the dealer, they want 2000 to do his brakes. seriously! so a gal that works for us’ husband is a mechanic, so he’ll order the parts and do them. it will still prob cost us 750! plus he needs snow tires…so theres another 800… kill.me.now.

It’s always nice to get hit on by someone our age too. Makes you feel like you are still worth looking at even though you are married. I always felt once I got married that I was “not-look-at-able.” LOL ryn: My sis and I are not close, never have been. We’re 6 yrs apart and have always been in a diff place of our lives. She’s also always had to live in my shadow..ya know?

she’s definitely pretty! it’s so nice to get compliments, especially if they’re from someone who’s not old and gross. 🙂 i hate cars. they’re always expensive to fix, and it’s always something. hopefully this will be your last fix for a while.

I can see the similarity! In my early 20s, I worked in a grocery store. I was once hit on by a pair of old ladies (I’m talking retired!) They commented on how tight fitting the uniform trousers were on my ass! That’s the kind of compliments I get – not normal ones like you. RYN: No. 10 was half serious/half joking!
