Happy Friday!

Friday’s are the best days of the week 🙂

I’ve been staying home this week to finish up some emails and calm any customers down that hyperventilate about not sending in their pages on time because they don’t know what’s going on and have no concept of time. Matt said to me the other day, ‘you know Ash, I just don’t think you’re cut out for customer service’. I laughed SO loud because I found that his simple statement hit the nail right on the head. He’s right! I’m a pretty patient person, and if someone doesn’t want my help but then panics later and is at the end of their rope for my help, I’m not exactly forgiving. I’m mad, have a sour attitude and while I don’t show that to them, when I get in the car to go back home, you don’t want to be in there, lemmie tell you. I want a job that is fun, that I can control, and that someone will get a grade for how well they followed directions and did what was asked of them. I’m over the corporate world and old people who cannot work a computer.

You guys would not believe how Suzy Homemaker I’ve become in the last couple of weeks. I used to not even have a clue how to fix a grilled cheese sandwich, and suddenly when there’s not much money and I don’t want to gain weight due to eating out in restaurants, I learned to cook! That was one hell of a run-on sentence. And my food is good! I’m snobby when it comes to food 🙂 During the super bowl, I had my parents over, and I fixed 2 different kind of dips, slow-cooked my delicious sirloin and italian sausage chili for 3 hours, and made chocolate chip ice-cream sandwiches. Mom and dad were impressed. And it wasn’t even a challenging thing to do. I was excited about buying all of the ingredients the night before. Yeah, it’s crazy.

Right now, my favorite thing to have for lunch are shrimp quesadillas. I add jalapenos in the mix (I add jalapenos to everything), along with some fajita seasoning, then some sour cream and tabasco on the side. DELICIOUS! I have always had a love for spicy food. I guess being from Texas makes me this way. Matt wasn’t used to this at first, and uh, that’s because the food in the UK is INCREDIBLY bland, but now he’s getting used to it. Mexican food is now his favorite.

Tom Petty played during the half-time Super Bowl show. Man, that guy is still rockin’. I love Tom Petty and so does my friend Christine. There’s a possiblity that we might go up for one of his concerts. I checked his website and he’s playing in Denver. Since Christine is from Indiana, I figured this would be KINDA a half-way point to meet up for a weekend and to see him play. I checked flight prices and right now everything is looking really affordable. I just want to convince Christine to go. They do play in Chicago on July 2nd, but that’s kinda in the middle of the week, so I don’t think that will fly.

On Saturday, I’m going to my old high school for a 40th Dance Team Reunion. Shannon is coming down from Dallas to be there, and Angela and Juliet will be able to meet up too. I’m excited to go and visit with people from the past. Tonight, we’re meeting up with Becky and Ryan to eat at County Line. I’m excited to eat BBQ!!

I’d better get going… hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am just learning the whole cooking thing too. I can do the typical “chicken with a starch and veggie” all day, but lately I’ve been trying some slow cooker dishes and some pastas. We still eat chicken all the time though–too much. We need some EASY new recipes–any ideas?

That was a first for me too.. welcome to adulthood huh? I’ve always wondered what it would be like at a highschool reunion.. I dont know if Canada does them though, lol, I’ve never heard of anyone going to one here.. is that weird? Anyway take care
