Three Years

Yesterday marked our 3rd year of marriage.  It is kind of hard to believe that it has been that long already, but then I think back to all that has happened to us in that time.  I am truly amazed at how life all comes together to form our life as husband and wife.  In the past three years, we…

– have bought and fixed up our own first home together.

– have both completed or come close to completing our Master’s degrees.

– have gained teaching jobs in an area that allows us to be close to our families.

– have taken wonderful trips together to Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and Orlando.

– have become united in our faith as Trent joined the Catholic church.

– have a little one on the way to help us complete our family unit.

When we got married, I’m not sure where I thought we would be in three years.  I guess that has been the beauty of our marriage.  I don’t really sit back and ponder or worry about where we are headed because I know we’re headed there together.  That makes life a little less scary at times.  It’s comforting to know that God has blessed me with a wonderful partner to walk through this life with me. 

The best way to sum up these past three years is to say it has been life-changing and wonderful.  There have been some very rough times, but those aren’t the things that I remember day to day because I have to look at the positives to move forward and to continue to build up our marriage and the love that we professed before God and all of our family and friends.  Looking back on the wedding day, it’s a bit bittersweet….
