Christmas #1 (with pics)
Friday afternoon we braved the snowy weather and hit the road to my brother’s house. We were okay because we were heading south and most of the snow was heading to the east, so the roads weren’t too terrible. We got there in a decent amount of time, got checked in to the motel, and then went and saw my brother and his family! We were able to go to their high school basketball game with them, and then we spent some time with the kids that night. My niece Melissa wanted to go stay at the motel with us that night, so she did. It was fun to have her with us, and she really enjoyed being out of the house and away from her brother for a while!
Saturday we had some family time in the morning, then my mom, Melissa, and I set out on a venture to deliver some packages for Trent’s mom to another town. We had a good time. We visited and played games and stopped at McDonald’s for treats. It was such a beautiful day to get out! That night we had Christmas dinner before heading to Mass, went to church, and then came back and opened presents. It was so fun to watch the kids open their gifts! I absolutely love giving, so I went kind of overboard with their presents, but I think that is what aunts and uncles are supposed to do, right?!? hehehe
Sunday we spent the morning with family again before heading home. We were able to stop and visit Trent’s grandma for a while and still got home at a decent time. I got some of the house cleaned and did some other things. The weekend was very relaxing and enjoyable. I absolutely love the holidays because we get to be with family! This next weekend we’ll head out of town again to celebrate Christmas on Trent’s dad’s side of the family. Then we’ll be home for a week before heading out again. All I know is that I am ready for a break from work! I am going to have to put in some long hours this week to wrap things up and get them ready for after break, but it’ll be worth it to be able to walk away from work for over a week. I really need that right now!
Tomorrow night some of us teachers are getting together for our own little Christmas celebration. We’re heading out to dinner together and then exchanging gifts. I really love some of the people I work with, so it’ll be nice to have our little group of friends together. I am really looking forward to it!
Well, it’s late and I need to get to bed. I will leave you all with some pics from this past weekend…

Ryan was as interested in his bottle as he was his presents!
