Finally an Update
It has been so long since I’ve actually updated. I am pretty faithful every morning as I blow dry my hair to get online and read my favorites and stay caught up on the latest news. I am not as good, though, about updating here!
I have actually had a few weeks off of homework, which has been heavenly. I really needed that break, and I think that’s why I got it. I feel as though I am caught up at school and have the year under control. I am not feeling near as overwhelmed any more, and that’s a relief. Hopefully that’ll also help my stress level so that my body may turn more into a "baby friendly" zone. hehehe I did get a new homework module emailed to me today, and I was glad to see it. We have this one and one more before the end of the semester. I function really well when I know the end is almost here. Then I only have to do this one more semester, and I’ll have a M.S. next to my teaching credentials. That’ll be wonderful!
Halloween this past week was a lot of fun. I always really enjoy having a break from a regular school day, and the kids had a lot of fun as well. They came to school in their costumes, and then we did a costume parade first thing in the morning. We followed our parade by our Halloween party (sugar in the morning is good, too, you know) and then the kids changed and went about their regular day! I had 12 of my 18 students stop by my house, so it was fun to see them out and about again that night. Trent’s mom came over so she could see the trick-or-treaters, and we just vegged on the couch and watched TV between kids coming to the house. It was fun!
This weekend my brother and his family decided to come and visit us. I am quickly learning what I missed in "Ryan-proofing" our house! It has been a lot of fun, though! My parents have come over both days to see them and will come tomorrow also to see them off. Tonight my brother and his wife and my niece went to see a movie, so we’re getting to baby-sit the baby. He’s almost 16 months old now, so he’s not really a baby. He is hilarious, though! He laugh and cackles so much that you can’t help but smile and laugh at him. He really is such a joy to have in our family! Trent’s sister and his nephew also decided to come back this weekend, which kind of stinks. My brother’s family is staying with us, so we can’t really just up and leave to go see his sister. They did come over for a bit this morning, but they didn’t stay long because they didn’t want to intrude. It was nice to see everyone. It always makes me excited for the holidays because I love to get together during that time.
In the baby department, we’re still praying and leaving the timing up to God. I did go and see a local doctor here in town that does acupuncture, and he did some acupuncture for fertility. It is supposed to increase the blood flow in the uterus area to help make things more conducive to achieving and keeping a pregnancy. I go back on Monday, so we’ll see how things go. This next week should be my ovulation week, so we’ll just leave it up to the Lord. I am getting much better at understanding that He is the one in control here and that He’ll bless us with a baby when it’s His timing. We would love to be able to give that kind of a gift to our families at Christmas time, but we’ll just wait and see. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this time!
Well, I better go. I came down to start a load of laundry and take a breather. Trent is enjoying some uncle time any way. Take care and I hope you’re all having a good weekend!
I’ll keep praying for successful baby-making. All you can do is keep trying and be patient. That’s wonderful you were able to spend some time with your family! What a nice treat it is when you can all gather with each other and relax. Ashley
