Conferences

I have had some kind of burst of energy tonight.  I’m not sure what it is, but I wish it would stay for the whole school year!  hehehe

This is the week of conferences.  This is actually a very dreaded week in the books of teachers in our school (heck, teachers everywhere).  We have conferences tomorrow from after school until 8:00, and then on Thursday from 2:00 (students get out at 1:30) until 8:00.  Then Friday we have to sit in an inservice all day long.  We are so brain dead by Friday morning that we just stare off into space and try to look like we’re listening to the presenters.  I know that sounds awful, but it’s such a long week!

I stayed late at school tonight trying to get things graded and entered into the computer.  Then I tried to get things somewhat organized for beginning of conferences tomorrow so that I don’t have as much to do in the morning.  We’ll see if it actually worked.  There’s a lot of things I’m still waiting on people to get to me to give the parents, but that’s typical.  I’m sure it’ll all fall into place.  I purposely scheduled some of my tougher conferences for tomorrow so that Thursday will be a lighter day.  Hopefully that’s the way it works out!

Otherwise, I’ve been working on a few things around the house, paying bills, and doing homework tonight.  I am going to have to come home each night this week and do some homework so that it’s done by the weekend.  We are planning to head to KC this weekend to visit Trent’s sister and watch his nephew play football.  I am excited to get away again!  Hopefully my friend Rachel will have had her baby by then so that I can go visit her and her little one.  That would be ideal so that I don’t have to make the trip again here in a few weeks.  We’ll see…

Well, I best keep moving!  I have more things to do, and the time is tickin’!  If you’re at home relaxing at a decent time any night this week, think of me slaving away at the school doing conferences!  😉  hehehe  Just kidding!  Have a great one…

I keep trying to get caught up with grading… ugh! Huge projects the kids spent a week and a half on and I’m trying to grade them all in about 4 days… ugh! Our conferences are the 17th-21st… any advice?!?! n

That’s the GREAT thing about being a specialist – unless parents request to talk to you, you don’t have to worry about conferences. Ours are the 15-19 as well. Kids get 2 hours early release ALL WEEK. That’s neat for me!
