Hot damn, son.

Boy-oh! That job that’s been in the works for the past two years now is almost DONE. Only a few hours left and it’s FINISHED. FOREVER. HURRAH! Unfortunately, it has left its mark upon me…

Yes, in memory of these past two years, I have a honkin’ gash on my head from a piece of rock that fell from the ceiling. This is the only place I’m going to explain just what happened because I have time on my hands and, let’s be frank, nobody else is going to listen long enough to know what I’m talking about.

We’re working in a very small wine room. I’m talking… maybe 3 feet wide, but… well, 115 inches high. So, almost ten feet. Not optimal ladder conditions. And it’s in sort of a triangle shape, and there are two inserts in the wall opposite the entrance. So picture this:

You are looking at the entrance of the wine room. There is a woefully small — and wobbly, might I add — stepladder in the center. One man stands in each insert with one foot on the stepladder and one foot in the insert. Overhead is a giant slab of granite, weighing perhaps 80-100 pounds, that we’re trying to fit to the ceiling. There are two pieces, each one the exact size and shape of one half of said ceiling. Unfortunately, there is already rock laid inside the cellar and it’s quite a challenge getting the slab past the rocks.

When we finally did, we needed to prop the slabs up in the air long enough for us to get pre-cut wooden beams into place. So as my brother held it overhead, I carefully ducked out, found a suitable piece of stone to wedge it up between the ceiling and the rock already on the walls. Unfortunately, during this incredibly difficult process, the propping rock slipped out from its perch and hammered me on the noggin, leaving about a 4-inch gash right on the top of my head.

It’s pretty sweet.

Now, another thing that’s on my mind (pun intended) is that today, 12:50 AM, is officially 4/20. That means that nearly everybody I know is going to get together and gather at the art gallery earlier on in the day (1-4PM roughly) where a massive yearly get-together with thousands of people will occur. God I love Vancouver.

Then, there will be hackey sack, cookies, movies, and most likely unconsciousness by around 7PM. I’m stoked. I should go buy some Jolt. Ciao!
