Back from Boston

Wow! What a great time.

Lets see, Sunday we left at 6:00 AM to drive 4 hours to the airport, with a quick stop at the hospital to see Mr M’s co-worker who had a heart attack on Friday at work.  He was doing very much better and was to go home that day.  We got to the airport on time to get checked in, scanned in, and whatevered in.  Our plane left right on time and we arrived in Denver expecting an 1 1/2 hour lay over.  Well the connecting flight was caught up in bad weather in TX so we ended up waiting a lovely 6 hours in Denver.  We had a long and relaxing dinner at a lovely French Cafe’ .  Shopped the body and bath store, oohed over the $4000 dresses, had frozen yogurt.  Talked to Aunty Em and Papa on the phone.  Read our books, took naps.  Whatever we could think of to make time pass.  Finally we took off for the 4 hour flight to Boston.  We arrived at 2:00 AM but hey thats only midnight our time.  We got a free upgrade at the hotel, I’m not quite sure why.  Maybe we looked too pityful when we checked in and they felt sorry for us, or they gave our room away cuz we were late.  It was on the 27th floor and had a nice view of the Charles River.

Monday I woke up about 7:00 and it was pouring rain.  This was one of my two "free" days so I was a bit bummed.  I went down to the lobby and found some coffee and a breakfast snack and let the rest of them sleep a while.  Finally about 8:30 I made them all get up, the rain had stopped and we walked to the Boston Commons, went to Cheers for lunch and walked back to the hotel.  The girls went swimming and then it was time to get ready to go to the convention center.  We were supposed to have bus transport, but the bus forgot to stop, so the travel group got us all taxi’s and we arrived to a red carpet reception.  It was pretty cool.  The girls just giggled as our door was opened for us and we were escorted into the building.  The meal was your choice of fenway hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken wings, some chicken wraps and salad.  They didn’t have enough tables for every one to sit, so we found a high table to set our plates on and eat.  The concert started soon after and we were treated to a wonderful show by Chicago.  It was wonderful.  That got over about 10:00 PM, so we loaded back up on the bus and went back to our hotel.

Tuesday I had to be back at the convention center at 5:30 AM, because when I checked in they told me my schedule had gotten messed up.  So I got up very early, caught the first bus of the day and headed over.  Turns out my schedule was fine.  Oh, well.  Had some breakfast and the meetings began at 7:30.  At 11:30 Mr M and girls came over for lunch and to meet Jim Craig.  DJ had drawn a picture to give to him and he was so impressed with it, he framed it, set it up on his table for the entire week.  He had her autograph it.    We got done with our meetings about 5:30, and I got back to the hotel about 6:15.  A quick change of clothes and we all went back over to the evening dinning event.  It was a Taste of Boston at the World Trade Center.  It was a delightful evening.  They had a club house for the kids and the girls had a ball.  Mr M and I enjoyed the skyscape and the moon over the ocean.  And the lobster was delicious!
