Soon to be birthday

Well the sands of time have shifted again and Wednesday I will be celebrating another birthday.  Wow, where has the time gone?  I ran into an old friend the other day in the grocery store, haven’t seen her in a moons age, she said as we parted greetings, "you know, you look just the same as the day I met you 14 years ago!"  I called her a liar! 🙂 I sure don’t feel like I did 14 years ago. 

The girls are up to something.  I know they are planning a party for my birthday, but just don’t the when’s and where’s.  It has been fun watching them plot and plan against me.

DJ left her note out on the table last night and when she saw it she was absolutely stricken?  "did you look at this mom?" Well yeah, I had to see if it was garbage or whatever! – I quickly recovered and said, " isn’t it the list of people you called and invited to the recital yesterday?"  Big ol’ grin, yeah! that’s it!

Speaking of the recital, the girls did wonderful.  DJ’s voice is getting stronger and she is getting more sure of herself.  JD plays her piano so well.  Someone asked me which one of their parents they got all their talent from?  HMMMM, I don’t know, maybe it’s a generation skipping thing.  MR M and I don’t have a lot of musical skill.  We sure do enjoy the girls music though.  JD and her friend did their flute duet in church yesterday and did a really  nice job.

Hockey is over.  The State Select thing was a really good thing.  JD learned a lot, meet some great kids and coaches.  I see a long time friendship with her coaches family. 

It was great to have the folks here for a few days.  I miss them.  Some times we so busy with this and that, that I forget just how much.  I wish I would have more time off, so I could have spent more time with them when they were here.
