My Little World

I realize now that my little world was not so little,
It was full and truly wonderful,
I knew such love from so many ends,
That the love that flowed had no ends…

I was not rich with money,
But rich with joy, and values, and truths,
Which are lacking in so many…

That everyday I can wake up,
And black as it may be,
I could find a smile in me,
And yet most days held such colour,
That if I looked, it held such wonder,
It was beautiful, It was light, It was life,
I was living…

And I love you now,
You have taught me that my little world was not so little,
My little world was huge!

Your world though is so small,
I am afraid at times,
If you would want to keep me in that cocoon,
Away from all the wonder and light and life I have lived.

You say that once we’re together, I’ve got it made,
But is that really what it’s all about?
Living in a little world so concerned with self,
Afraid of everyone else, and anything new,
Afraid to explore further than your little area?

Before you, the whole world was open to me,
And I wonder if with you, I’ll be stuck within your county,
Within our room, within the darkness,
Only quiet surrounding us?

What will I do?
I used to have the world,
Could I trade that just for you?
Would I be happy or would I be blue?
To give up my wonderful world for you?

I hope that you will open the windows,
Spread those doors, and let some light in,
Let some air in,
And we will share the world together.

I love you.

I shall not leave you.

I wish you would open up a little

To what was me…
