on again, off again

I write here and then I get busy and then I have something to say, and write a bit. on and off. what is that? ah well.

Colorado is burning again, 4 major fires in the state, the big one up by fort Collins is 56,000 acres and only half contained. they expect it to burn all summer. and I think to myself, is it any wonder? with all the beetle killed trees in our forest? I think I wrote on this, a year ago. so no surprise that dead trees burn. I am saddened at the loss of wild life, livestock and yes even human life (one 60 yr old lady died in her cabin at beginning of fire)

I had a birth day, on the 16th, spent it with my 102 yr old father in GJ. He fails a little each time I see him. It is hard to stay for long, as he gets on a subject and goes on and on , over an over it. fortunately he also sleeps a lot during the day. isn’t that sad to say! well I love him, and he is living his life the way he wants. He is still in his home, with folks that come to clean and folks that bring him a meal each day, his nurse comes and checks his Med’s, etc. and he sees his doctor at least once a month. At 102, I would prob be the same.

it is cloudy today, hope it rains, the temp has varied from 95 to 101 to 90 and back again. today it might hit 80. I got a tree and some shrubs planted in late spring, and they seem to be doing ok. though I had to hire someone to start the sprinklers up, and mowing is hurting my back. why did I want a big yard? (scratching my head)

I will be working at least another year, social security, says I can make another 8% if I wait a year before I retire. or I could retire and work full time and then IF I make more then I did in one of the 35 years working (what they rate it on) they would increase it to that adjustment. but is that more or less then the 8% they said I would have to take my tax returns to them after the year and see. I am thinking the 8% is more then the adjustment, but …. will take my tax returns in after Jan. and make another decision. for now, its off to work I go.
