home agan
Wendy (my daughter) and made a quick trip to GJ over weekend. left Denver Friday night , arrived in GJ around 11– the only delay was when we were at top of Vale pass 2 snow plows pulled out in front of us, going all of 20 miles an hour and each too a lane, so there was no passing. by the time we were half way down Vale there was a string double sting of car lights snaking all the way back up the mountain. as there was only blowing dust of snow, they never once put a blade down or tossed sand, or anything. my guess is they just wanted to keep everyone safe by going slow…. added another half hour to the late night trip… at least.
had a quick visit, restocked Dads cupboards, made him some Christmas goodies and also managed a quick visit with my best friend, Cheryl. for those of you who followed my boards, one of her 3 sons, Bo. had been separated from his wife for 9 or 10 months. Wendy and Bo were childhood sweethearts–first kiss kind of stuff . they had a date a month or so ago. and text messaged each other ALOT afterwards. it ended a week or so ago when Bo’s step daughter caused some sort of involvement with social services…the result was Bo texted Wendy that he had to "drop out of sight for a while"…. not writing anymore. kind of suspicious to me, but then I’ve been a therapist for a few years and suspicion is now my 2nd nature. Wendy had over past month repeated said how intelligent he seemed, a surprise to her as after all we are talking about a man whose goal in life is to be the best roper (roping cows–of course he came by this goal naturally as Cheryl and her husband were team ropers for many years). anyhow. last comment from her, on drive back was that Bo was NOT that intelligent. after all, he lied to her about what the situation was. Did he think his mom and I don’t talk? yep. the man moved back in with his wife. "for the sake of the child". sure. but "Man Up" , or as it has been said in the West "Cowboy UP" and be honest about it to who ever you are talking to. lies will come out. so that’s how that story went.
the drive back was not fun. we left at 9am, as there was a storm ahead of us and one coming in from California. the drive over 2 passes, usually takes 4 hours. this one took 5 and half. Vale was pure ice. we slid only once when truck was down shifting. thank god for 4 wheel drive, all commercial truck were ordered to put on chains. and all others were 4 wheel drive cars and trucks, except for a few idiots who messed everyone up. Loveland pass started out wet but traffic was a 5 mile crawl, as skier now are all on road trying to get home. and snowing adding to mess. by time we hit close to top we found out what the jam was, one grey haired lady had tried to pull a 4 horse trailer over the slick pass. she was now talking to the quick fix big rig tow truck– tow trucks that are stationed at bottom of this pass and huge, huge ones that can pull a big rig trucker out of a mess. so cowboys and girls, were not so bright this trip….
But here we are hone safe and coming up a few days to Christmas, Denver was 50 degrees! no snow here! not yet .
I wish you all a safe, warm place this holiday! hugs!
Glad you made it safely. Coming throught the mountains in winter can be an adventure. I beat most of the weather to the Rockies and am holed up with friends (blevins and husband) in Colville, WA. Cold? Very, but on average not as cold as back home in Erie. I just don’t normally winter up north. Be well, my friend.

I have learned that the only thing worse than getting involved with a married person is getting involved with one who is “separated.” They usually aren’t that separated. Good for her to get out before real problems began.
