Not ready to say goodbye…

My sister found out in January she has breast cancer, apparently it’s now in 98% of her liver and is also in her lower spine. She told me the doctor’s given her about 3 years. 🙁 If she passed away after her birthday 3 years from now she’d only be 43. 🙁 She has two small children both boys that Jimmy and I will take in if (or when, god forbid)she passes away. Her husband’s a moron and the state did a psych evaluation on him and determined he has the mentality of a 12 year old (in the sense that he’s selfish and only cares about himself, not in the sense that he can’t take care of himself because he can), has anger issues and violent tendencies and isn’t allowed to be alone with the kids or they’ll be taken away. He’d rather spend money on porn than buy things for his family, he hocks my sister’s things when they need money, neither of the boys (5, and 3 years old)are potty-trained because buying underwear and a potty-seat for them is "unimportant" to him because he’d rather sit on the couch and watch Cartoon Network than get another job. He worked at a gas station but was fired because he was rude to the customers and didn’t do his job.

She has 5 kids, they have 4 kids together. Her oldest (20)is in the Army, her second and third kids (10 and 7)were taken away due to ignorance on the state’s part (determined the 10 year old had failure to thrive when he was just allergic to his formula and they were trying to find one they could feed him so he got taken away when he was 15 months old, the 7 year old was taken away when she was just 4 days old – given to the same foster family and then adopted by them), her fourth and fifth kids are still with them.

I don’t want to lose my sister. 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

I’m so sorry. This was tough to read and I can’t imagine what you’re going through. But you have to remember that everyone you know will die someday, whether you’re ready for it or not. I have lost many family members from cancer and my father from a heart attack. Death is never easy. I just hope everything goes okay with the kids.

Remember that medicine is amazing these days. At the beginning of November my father was diagnosed with stage III liver cancer, there were so many tumors his liver was literally potruding under his skin. They gave him till mid December. He responded well to treatment and is still alive and kicking! Doctors aren’t always right, I hope everything works out for the best with her health and family <3
