Struggling to bring yourself out of this turmoil of love and hate

Bitter tears slide down your tender cheek

Grief takes over your body

As you quietly start to rise

Demons come unbidden

And beg you to follow

Entranced by their rebellious beauty

Gliding into the endless night

Helpless you grip the hand outstretched to you

Your midnight lover

Stands silhouetted in his own light
