Good Samaritans

Have you ever been helped by a stranger?

In the parable of the good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-37 of the Bible, a man is attacked, wounded, and deserted on the raod by theives while journeying from Jerusalen to Jericho. The priest and the Levite both ignored the victim, but the Samaritan assisted him and paid for his services thought they were strangers. Now, in driving, we have the "Good Samaritan" law, which states that if we come across people, even strangers, in trouble on the road, we should pull over and hlep.

Unfortunately, most people today are rude and self-centered. However, I’ve been helped by members of the rare species of "good Samaritans" who were strangers. While struggling to change lanes or turn, I’ve encountered drivers who yielded and temporarily obstructed traffic to let me through. At school, I’ve met students and staff who helped me gather my belognings when I dropped them. Strangers have given me with directions and showed me the way when I had gotten lost in unfamiliar places. People have also provided me with useful supplies, information, and assistance in emergencies or when I didn’t know much about something. I became friends with some of there "good Samaritans."

We should always help those who are less fortunate, but in modern times, it is not always possible. Sometimes, we are in no condition to help, while other times, the victims could be false. They could be criminals posing as victims, seeking chances to rob or murder their "good Samaritians." Therefore, we first check the scene and when we are sure the situation is safe, we should help. Helping others is also a way to make friends.
