Unreconciled Enemies
Have you ever made an enemy that you’ve never reconciled with?
In our lives, we encounter many types of people, including ones we have problems with. Some we reconcile with while others we do not. That’s why they are called enemies. If we made up, they wouldn’t be our enemies. Reconcilation requires the efforts of all the involved parties, and if just one party refuses to work on it, then it is not possible. I myself have quite a few people I’ve never reconciled with, and these are all unpleasant people.
In school and society, I’ve had conflicts with people, but I often try to settle them. There were people whom I’ve had problems with for a long time, but in the end, we became friends. However, I’ve encountered times when people refuse to do their part. They would continue to bully, control, insult, condescend, cheat, and hold grudges even after apologies and explanations.
From preschool to high school, there were many bullies, smart alecs, and other unplesant people who were impossible to reconcile with. There are also unpleasant people in college and beyond, especially professors and other authority figures. Many of them abuse their powers. I had problems with rude professors and staff. I never made up with my RA or his friends in my first year, because they continued to be rude, narrow-minded, deceitful, and cliquey. In the dorms, there was a resident director who was evil and always abusing his powers.
We can even make unreconciled enemies on the internet. That’s what happened to me at TheOneRing.Com. The expert roleplayers and their narrow-minded clique continued to hold my mistakes against me even after apologies and explanations. This caused the moderators to start putting unfair and unclear restrictions on me, and eventually ban me. I never made amends with any of these people though I tried.
We can make attempts to reconcile, but if the others would not cooperate, then we can’t. It would be impossible to reconcile with people like Hussein and Bin Laden.
