Trouble Increases With Population

Many close-knit, warm, and friendly cities and organizations begin with a few people. However, as more people arrive and join, the acquaintance and friendliness decreases. Very soon, people do not know one another, cliques form, focus shifts to the wrong areas, and trouble increases. This happens almost everywhere, and is a microcosm. Overpopulation results in chaos. The more people the less availability the resources, and the higher the probability of problems.

In small schools, a whole class becomes a gang. There is more sense of community and belonging, and less cliques, peer pressure, and power abuse. However, in big schools, many students bully, fight, steal, vandalize, and cause all kinds of problems. The order disappears and focus shifts to the unimportant aspects. Staff members of bigger schools are also more likely to play favorites and abuse their powers while the more applicants and students the greater the rejection.

In the past, dorm residents had a sense of community. Now, residents often do not know most of the people, and are often in cliques. There are often pranks and vandalism, and the staff abuse their powers, take sides, and pay attention to the wrong areas. For example, they say, "We don’t care you were shot, but you are responsible for dripping blood on the floor," because keeping the floor clean is easier to do than making sure residents are safe.

The same happens with clubs. In a small club or organization, members know and include one another. However, with more members, acquaintance diminshes, cliques form, rejection occurs, and conflicts increase as we lose order. There will also be more people not doing their jobs and focusing on the wrong issues.

TheOneRing.Com is an examle of troubles increasing with population. I learned that when the site first began, there were few members, so eveyrone knew one another, and it was a close-knit, friendly community.  Now they have thousands of members, which has made the place chaotic. Misunderstandings, conflicts, TOS violations, rejeciton, and cliques have increased, and the moderators are becoming biased and abusing their powers. It seems as if they are so focused on getting rid of people instead of improving the quality of the site.

With population increasing everywhere, we should be doing what is best for the people and environment in the long run. We must remember to focus on controlling overpopulation, making sure there are enough resources, granting equal rights for everyone, and other important issues. We should not concentrate on the unimportant things, such as skin color and beauty.
