fulfilling a promise
I made a promise to OD some years ago that when I had my own money I would subscribe and pay back for all of these wonderful free years. Well I finally did it. I am officially a “real” ODer. And I’m a bit excited. Here’s why:
Chapters. Chapters!!! Greatest invention ever – now rather than having to do the mind-numbing math of determining exactly what entry falls into what chapter of my life… I actually have chapters! The interesting part about all of this is how one chooses to catalogue their life. For example, my chapters are based on year of school. Junior year of h.s. Summer after junior year of h.s. Sophomore year of college. You get the point. It’s how a student’s brain works – we categorize our entire lives based on the title of our educational standing.
Now I’m in the post-school phase of my life and need an entirely new way to categorize my life. So what do I do? I’m actually using the number of my rotation at work. Are you kidding me???? I can’t be more creative than that? 1st rotation, 2nd rotation? What on earth am I going to do when I have no “rotation number” to use? I should call this my “reformation” phase. Or my engaged chapter. Something I assign myself rather than something assigned to me. But will I? Of course not.
Ahh well. Just glad I could start helping OD a little more with their bills. Speaking of which I really need to pay my bills for this month. I’ll get on that.
By the way – I found Jake on mySpace. Crazy boy is actually in a full-fledged band! Always nice to know the people on OD are real and didn’t, in fact, fall of the face of the planet when they left.
