Combo-ness

I like that I can bond with the combo… I like that some of us are very different people and yet we get along so incredibly well. It’s like they’re all some of my closest friends despite our differences and despite the fact that I really don’t hang out with any of them (excluding Alex and at one time Emma) outside of combo and school. It’s great that we can go off into un-reality time for combo and come back to school and still be tight. Take Cloe, for example. Talk about two different people. I’ve known Cloe for almost two years now, but I’ve never really known her. At the start of combo we got along fine. We then roomed in Findley, which was rather interesting for several reasons. I found out some pretty personal things about Cloe, and she in turn found out how “motherly” I can be. I think by the end of that first day we didn’t like each other very much. But the great thing is, by the end of the second day, everyone in combo was forced to become really close.

Now Cloe and I talk quite a bit. Like right now, for example. We’re talking about things that only a handful of other people (combo people) would even begin to understand, and I love it. I love that we can be close yet far and different.

Barry, Bob… whatever it takes. Berlin? Chardon? Dead? Coma? Ehh… something.

That awesome. That’s how I felt with my colorguard squad this year after the season was through. It’s a pretty neat feeling. Have fun on your trip!
