Me? Rosencrantz?
I don’t understand why the snow is melting. It’s still freezing out there. I just don’t get it. After Saturday we had over 2 feet of snow, and for the past two days, it’s done nothing but melt away! (Creating huge icicles in the process, I might add. They’re pretty wicked…) At any rate, why would snow melt in below freezing temperatures? Does the snow generate heat in mass quantities? I’m being totally serious. After all, igloos do contain heat. Is this an igloo-effect we’re seeing here? Although they don’t generally melt, thus the point of making them. Or do they?
Point being, it’s depressing.
I woke up today. The fascinating part about that was the fact that I woke up when my alarm went off. I think I put my mother into shock as well. Nevertheless, I was still exceptionally late to school. I blame my mother, of course. But in all reality, she took two minutes to get out of the driveway. Obstacles and whatnot. Two minutes may not seem like a big deal to you, but when the school is a quarter of a mile away, and half the school drives down your road to get to the traffic light at the end of your street which leads right into the high school parking lot, two minutes puts a lot of cars ahead of you. Not to mention the light only turns for 30 seconds every minute and a half. I usually try to make the 7:11 light, because we leave my house at 7:09 on an average day, but today we definitely didn’t leave until 7:11, making it the 7:13 light. Keep in mind, this is time according to our vehicles. School time says it’s about 5 minutes earlier than that, but I really wouldn’t know until I get there.
This being the first day back from winter break, I had to take my sax into the band room. This adds an additional 2 to 3 minutes to my morning routine, causing absolute havoc when I’m late. I feel these reasons justify why I didn’t get to my locker until a quarter after 7, homeroom starting at 7:20. You may say this should give me plenty of time. Well, it doesn’t… At any rate, my morning started off rather badly… it didn’t help that I was at school.
“I was in a bad mood, until I went to physics.” Might I steal that Dani quote? Once again, it ironically applies. I walked in scowling at the world, proclaiming that “This is a bunch of crap!” Meaning school, of course, and even physics in general. Mr. R didn’t even so much as say hello, hope you had a nice break, blah blah blah. Nope, just handed out the computer lab sheets, like we’d been at school all along, said a bunch of gibberish words at us, and walked to the adjoining computer lab. We sort of all stammered and gestured and stared at each other. Jay asked me to poke his pencil through his eye, but wouldn’t allow me to have someone do it to me first, because my aim wouldn’t be primed for HIS eye. Moving on…
By the end of physics, I was in a sort of slap happy giddy mood. It’s another one of those cases where I’m convinced my subconscious just finds the utter hilarity and pettiness of day-to-day life and acts on it, creating a giddy outgoing me. Or it could be the fact that I’m not used to going to bed until 2am and haven’t been waking up until between 10:30 and noon everyday, therefore waking up every two hours during the night without the alarm. Perhaps that explains the slap-happiness. My sleep schedule is currently screwed and under construction.
It was bagel day today. Have I ever told you about bagel days? Every day during 4th mod I have a bagel for breakfast. No time for such things at home, but my free mod is a perfect time for it. Now, they have bagels everyday, it’s just the way in which they are presented which varies. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays they serve bagels and donuts to penniless (I lie) but starving children such as myself. These are the only days that donuts are fresh, and the only days that bagels remain un-tainted by ceran wrap. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they have the bagels all wrapped up in ceran wrap, giving them a slightly plastic taste, but of course we eat them anyway.
