rambling because I can now…

Alright. Breathing. Dear Lord… frustration. I had two paragraphs written. It refreshed (I swear I didn’t tell it to), and BAM. Gone. Can’t even go back to it. Maybe it’s my new browser. Well, we shall find out. Bah.

Uhh… where was I? Oh, right. I didn’t miss it. I just thought you should know that.

I haven’t written for 12 days. One would think I’d have something to say. Some even to tell about. Some new problem to rant about. But I don’t.

As we were driving home last night, we were talking about stars, the sun, moon, planets… I know that sounds ridiculous for two parents and their rather strange daughter to be talking about, but it was a matter of staying awake. We’d already driven 4 hours in the morning, and were driving another 4 last night. At any rate… If one were to travel in the OPPOSITE direction as the earth is rotating, at exactly the same speed, it would basically stay the same time. Time would pass, and yet, time wouldn’t change. If this experiment was started at noon, given the plane or whatever could be re-fueled, the pilots wouldn’t fall asleep, and the plane would be fast enough to keep up, it would still be noon for several hours. According to the sun, it wouldn’t even be 12:30… it would just stay noon. Until, of course, it got to the international date line, or whatever it’s called. In which case, it will be the following day, still at noon. So, time would pass, and a day would pass, but time wouldn’t really have passed, according to conventional measurements. In fact, all of a sudden, that plane is just as stable as the sun (except for the fact that it’s rotating around the sun) in that it does spin on an axis. The earth would spin, and it would appear that the plane was moving, but REALLY it wouldn’t be moving. It would be like walking backwards on one of those… airport walking treadmill thing-a-ma-bobbers. (because I almost remember the word for it)

Well then, I’m off to work on my college essay and to be
