the perfect book

You know who’s a genius? Dr. John Gray. He is a freaking genius. Author of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. It was so funny… today after band my sister was talking about her significant other with my mom. I joined the conversation… and it led to the point system of men and women. So out came the book, lol. My mom’s read it before, so she turned right to the chapter about the point systems of women and men, how they differ, and such things. HYSTERICAL, I tell you! Hahaha… we all died laughing. Female bonding moments… the book is SO TRUE. After we finished that chapter, we went into the family room and began to read it outloud from the beginning. I believe we’ve finished up through chapter 3, all taking turns reading. It’s become our summer project.

Hehe… it was funny. My mom was reading to us, and she was like, “We’ve come a long way from Raggedy Anne and Charlotte’s Web!” Hahaaaa… how great. We then realized that, well, of course women would read the book. But MEN, who really need to read it as well, are much less likely to read it. Picture this: A father and his 2 sons sitting together in a family room pondering over a book called Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus… are you NOT seeing this? *laughs hysterically* Ahh… so great. I realized another thing today. Men, you see, give penalty points for various things. Well, half the things the book mentioned that would be likely to get women penalty points (which the entire thing is really psychotic… in half the situations you either do nothing, and earn bonus points, or do something, and get penalty points…)… well, by now I’d be SO in the negative numbers, that I should just give up all hope of a relationship. Which, of course, I won’t. It’s a problem. In today’s society it’s ok to be an assertive woman. But in doing so, we apparently sever the precious male ego, thus making them upset with us. Basically I can’t win.

I think that it is going to rain.

I think that I am drinking cherry coke because we are out of dr. pepper and I am in desperate need of caffiene. Comme beaucoup. I was sitting on my upstairs couch, starting to read the second summer reading book, Cry, the Beloved Country, when ONCE AGAIN my cat decides to jump up onto the couch with me. Once again, I put down my book, and allow her to lie down on me and purr to her little heart’s content. Of course, this time I attempt to read with one hand and pet her with the other, but that just didn’t work. She kept looking up at the book as if she were utterly annoyed that she didn’t have my full attention. I’m so weak… she looked so sweet that I just HAD to put the book down. And I fell asleep on the couch. And she fell asleep on me. And when I woke up, an hour and a half later, she was gone… but I sure wasn’t.

So, how is everyone doing? I have to ask, because no one seems to be writing! What is WITH you people lately? Sean leaves and BAM the world stops writing. Goodness. Oh, and ERIN! (pixie Erin, not flaggette Erin) What happened to you? You haven’t written since June. Goodness.

With that, I’m off to be

~swept away~
